Season of Justice: Holiday Appeal

This holiday season, we’ve launched our Season of Justice: Holiday Appeal to help continue the essential frontline support migrant workers across Nova Scotia rely on to seek justice.

Every day, migrant workers contact us for support with workplace injuries, unpaid wages, unsafe or abusive working conditions, and other urgent situations where speaking up alone can feel risky or impossible. For many, the Centre for Migrant Worker Rights Nova Scotia (CMWR NS) is the only place they can turn to for trusted, rights-based support.

Demand for our support is increasing. In 2024, more than 200 migrant workers across Nova Scotia reached out to our bilingual helpline. In 2025, demand has already surged, with 25% more migrant workers seeking help, underscoring the growing need for timely and rights-based assistance.

Behind every call is a migrant worker navigating complex systems, unfamiliar processes, and significant power imbalances. Being able to answer the phone, provide accurate rights information, and show up when needed requires sustained staffing and the systems that make this support possible.

Your donation helps ensure that when a migrant worker reaches out for help, someone is there to answer – day or night. It sustains the staffing, tools, and frontline support that keep our work accessible across the province.

The Season of Justice: Holiday Appeal runs until January 10. Support during this period directly shapes our ability to continue responding to workers who reach out for help in the months ahead.

Make a one-time or monthly donation to support the Season of Justice: Holiday Appeal.
